Colorado Backflow Prevention Association (CBPA)

The Colorado Backflow Prevention Association (A chapter of the American Backflow Prevention Association), is dedicated to the protection of the potable water supply.  Specifically, our goal is to provide awareness about the potential contamination or pollution hazards to the water supply from backflow through a cross-connection. (CBPA Mailing Address here)

Our members include every type of professional in the plumbing and water supply industries. These include plumbing contractors, inspectors, regulators, health department, water suppliers, landscape irrigation professionals, and of course backflow prevention technicians. To join the CBPA, Click here for the PDF Membership form.

Please click the CBPA Info button for information about our organization (Meeting schedules, Officer Listings, Newsletters, Minutes of meetings, and more), or use the Quick Navigation menu above for the most popular destinations on this site. (Email us if you have questions!).

In Colorado, those that maintain a cross connection, or have knowledge of a cross connection are guilty of a crime as defined in CRS 25-1-114(h) and may also be subject to civil action as defined in CRS 25-114.1. The Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment has issued a new version of the Colorado Primary Drinking Water Regulations that provides for the implementation of cross-connection control programs by public water suppliers in Colorado. Click the link below to view them:

The Backflow Prevention Education Council of Colorado has graciously provide a forum to discuss CBPA issues, and to allow informal voting for our membership. It does require that you register your first and last name with the forum to post and vote, but that is a simple process and will allow easy communication within our membership. To access the forum, click here.

The new CBPA Bulletin Board is open, check it out and register an account!
