There have been changes proposed to the requirements to test a backflow preventer on a fire sprinkler systems. Charlie Sullivan & Larry Nelson attended those hearing, and Charlie provided this report. It will affect those currently testing backflow preventers, but the wording has been softened to be more friendly to those that test.

Also, if you did not check the front page, the new CBPA Bulletin Board has gone live. Please register an account and participate in your organization.

This report was submitted by Byron McElhinney about the ABPA National Conference in San Antonio:

The ABPA Conference in San Antonio was a huge success. The silent auction broke two records; one for the number of items auctioned (49) and one for the amount of money received ($ 3,040.00). The item donated by CBPA cost us $20.00 and was sold for $55.00. Between the Pre-Conference Reception, Vendor Reception, Association Luncheon, box lunches, continental breakfasts, Association Banquet and the barbeque at the Knibbe Ranch, there was way too much food.

Several of the CBPA Officers were there. Fred Spengler and Byron McElhinney spent most of the conference working in the CCC Manual Committee. Byron McElhinney serves on the Training and Education Committee and the Bylaws Committee. Tami Krebs serves on the Membership Committee. Leigh Fenton serves on the Bylaws Committee and the Ways and Means Committee. We attended the Chapter Officers’ session put on by ABPA President Rich Koenig and Vice President John Oakeson.

There are some pictures of your CBPA officers as well, which have been added to the People/Events library.

A new year, where does the time go? You'll find a new link in the left navigation bar linking to the CBPA Forum for Discussion, the officers are trying to provide a format for discussion with members, and to pool ideas for the coming year and Annual Conference. Give it a shot if you haven't joined the BPECC forums yet, as they have provide a spot for us.
